Jean Pouyat is a porcelain factory in Limoges founded in 1842 by entrepreneur Jean Pouyat. Jean Pouyat died in 1849 just a few years after the factory was opened. After Jean Pouyat′s death, the management of the plant passed to his sons. In 1911, Jean Pouyat Co. merged with William Guerin and Co. After the end of World War I, both companies became part of Bawo and Dotter. The Jean Pouyat stamps were in use until 1932, when Bawo and Dotter ceased operations.
